Heat exchange optimization
Corrugation is a specific process performed on smooth tubes to create an internal surface capable of generating greater thermo-fluid dynamic turbulence in the fluid motion, allowing for the optimization of heat exchange efficiency in tubular heat exchangers.
As a result of corrugation, heat exchange efficiency is increased by a percentage ranging from 40% to 90%, depending on the following parameters:
• type of product
• type of profile adopted
• type of application
• reduction of required surfaces
• reduction of contact and residence times of the product inside the element
• reduction of cleaning times thanks to the greater mechanical action generated by turbulence
• vertical or horizontal installation
• possibility of working at high pressures and temperatures
• absence of gaskets and therefore lower maintenance costs
• ease of assembly and modularity of the exchanger
Depending on the products and the work to be performed, the exchanger is sized using our proprietary calculation software, which takes into account our profiles and the depth of the corrugation performed on the tubes. Once the exchanger is sized, the technical office proceeds with the production drawing, taking into account the main industry regulations. Extreme attention to detail and targeted solutions based on the specific product sectors.
